'Guns to Guitars'

I was glad to be included in this interesting project, with Projekt Wormhole ,a group of luthiers who make guitars from reclaimed materials. Kolja Bannasch came up with the idea for this project when he discovered a trove of old walnut wood gunstock blanks in a closed down gun maker's workshop in Germany. The pieces of wood were sent out to about twenty wormhole luthiers, to be made into guitars instead of guns.

I used the walnut wood to make the body and the bridge for this acoustic guitar. The soundboard is Carpathian Spruce, the fretboard is ebony and the neck is made from an old mahogany door post. All of the inlays, as well as the saddle and nut are made from brass, salvaged from two bullets and a tank shell.
